Videcom Security have manned, managed, expanded & maintained the St Albans City Centre CCTV Control Room for almost 20 years providing a unique insight into the requirements of Public Area Surveillance operations, regulations and provision of video evidence.

The Control Room was enlarged in 2006 by the addition of a new operator's room and the conversion of the old room to a review suite. Design, installation and integration of Meyertech Fusion GUI with Panasonic Real Time recording, 3 operator positions, Shopwatch and Airwave radios by Videcom.

Furniture and Monitor Wall supplied by Knotty Ash to Videcom specific design. Comms room expanded to incorporate the inclusion of Town Centre monitoring for Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield and Borough of Broxbourne - Cheshunt & Waltham Cross utilising extensive Wi-Fi network connections, remote status monitoring & inter-connection to Herts Police HQ ,Stanborough.

Our 24/7 Maintenance covers 160 plus Town Centre cameras with 40 Videcom RDC Cluster sites.

Videcom continue to deliver installation of CCTV, Wi-Fi and Access Control within the City of St. Albans and surrounding areas.

Community CCTV Contract Extended

The contract to provide closed-circuit television systems (CCTV) for public places in St Albans District, has been extended for two years. Under the current three-year contract, Videcom Security has provided community CCTV to St Albans City and District Council and Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council since 1 April 2013. The contract was awarded following a formal public procurement process and includes an option for a two-year extension.

St Albans CCTV
St Albans City and District Council continue to be a major customer of Videcom with both CCTV, Access Control and public space CCTV monitoring services. The control room monitors CCTV from a wide collection of Town Centre CCTV schemes throughout Hertfordshire. The Meyertech Fusion Solar and ZoneVu command and control CCTV system has been continuously upgraded over the years to take advantage of changes and developments within the CCTV industry.

More recently our VNR recorders have been installed, reducing energy consumption within the control room and adding flexible ONVIF IP HD CCTV recording capability to the control room.
